Well May seems to have passed by in a blur of Fairs..........

Sorry to have been absent from my blog for so long. This was my stand at the Lostwithiel Festival event, not the best in terms of financial reward but you have to try these things don't you!

Hopefully all the leaflets that I distributed about the shop will bring some new customers down to Portscatho. Many thanks to Gertie for lending me her camera so that I could take these photos. She drove all the way over from Germany to sell her work at the event - now how committed is that! Her crocheting courses for beginners and improvers are going to be held in August in Jane's lovely studio at Golden Mill, click here for details if you are interested!

Yes, this was where I was to be found this morning - ironing in the garden! Well the weather was far too nice to be stuck indoors....

Then at lunchtime I set off on a lovely walk.... come with me to one of the most beautiful churches in the country.........

The St. Just-in-Roseland parish church is surrounded by subtropical gardens

And lies on the banks of a tranquil creek.

There was confetti still in the porch and wedding flowers on the windowsills. The scent of lillies filled the air.

Can you imagine a more idyllic spot?

Some of the older graves are covered in wild garlic and bluebells..... An artist friend of mine, Julian Dyson, is buried in the churchyard along with his dear wife Betty, and I'm glad that they repose in such a place of peace and beauty.

From the churchyard the footpath wends its way along the edge of the creek to St. Mawes. The views across the sparkling water are spectacular. Sailing craft of all kinds were enjoying the breeze of a blissful Sunday afternoon.

Through the trees overhanging the water I caught glimpses of people swimming and lying on the little beaches. I do hope that you also managed to get out and enjoy this glorious sunshine. Happy day!
