Coming up......

There are two Fairs coming up at the end of May which I will be taking part in, starting on Thursday 24th May at Avington Park (at Itchen Abbas just outside Winchester in Hampshire) with a wonderful Decorative Antiques Fair promising all sorts of beautiful things for the home and garden. Thirty dealers in all will be selling their wares, both inside and out. Entrance fee is £5 and refreshments are available on site. I've not done this Fair before, but it sounds like a lovely day out! Open 9.30am - 4pm

Then on Saturday 26th May the return of the ever popular Vintage and Handmade Fair in Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire. A veritable cornucopia of all things gorgeously vintage and handmade! Loads of exhibitors, loads of variety, the best of its kind! Entrance fee is £1, doors open at 10am and the Fair ends at 4pm.

So with both fairs within two days of each other I've been busy making stuff to bring along, such as these decorative hair grips, made from lovely old buttons, ribbon and fabric 'Suffolk puffs'

Also 'Inspiration Packs' of vintage fabric, thread, buttons, ribbon, lace and paper ephemera; little project bags really, designed to get you inspired to create something unique!

Then there are bundles of lovely old fabrics, tied up with a tag of vintage buttons and a puff or two...

and packs of original old documents, papers and stickers, all individually printed and arranged for you to enjoy card-making, scrap-booking, collaging.....

As well as these I will be bringing along some choice antique pieces, including an iron painted cot bed,  vintage clothing, beautiful glassware, old frames, boxes and much much more......

I really hope you can make it along!

Treats!

What a lovely day full of treats! Firstly, this morning Angelica, Maggie and I went to the Food and Craft Fair at Godolphin House, where loads of delicious Cornish produce was on sale, and then this afternoon we drove to Trevoole Farm Garden for their open day under The National Gardens Scheme!

This lovely lady was welcoming everyone as they arrived, and my was it busy! I think the article in Country Living magazine had spread the word far and wide....

Pots of beautiful auriculas were displayed down in the outdoor 'living room'

I loved the piece of fabric in an old battered frame on the back wall....

Everywhere you look there is something to interest the eye.....

I loved the way the colour scheme inside this cupboard reflected the colours in the little curtains

Outside in the apple orchard people were enjoying tea and cake in the sunshine

It was non-stop for the tea ladies in the Summerhouse!

Angelica and Maggie taking a breather!

The herb garden and the potager......

It was lovely watching the two saddleback pigs rootling around!

Somehow on my last visit (see blog archive, 4 July 2010) I entirely missed out on the potting shed, so this was probably my favourite bit this time round......

The serene shepherd's hut....

Beth's shed shop had loads of nice gardenalia on sale

 and bunches of garden flowers

Thank you Beth and Travis for sharing your beautiful garden with us once again!
The next open day at Trevoole Farm Garden is 24th June 2012,
2-5pm

So what have you been up to this Bank Holiday weekend? Do tell...... x x x
